Ercol Furniture - Project Management

As Project Coordinator, responsibilities include:
Coordinating customer briefs through design development, quotations, costings, prototyping, testing, pre-production and manufacture to delivery, marketing, sales and customer service support.

Customers include John Lewis, Marks and Spencers, Furniture Village, The White Company, Feather and Black and DWR (USA) and products include dining room, living room, office, bedroom and upholstery collections.

Creating and managing Project Plans with critical paths to ensure projects are planned, tracked and completed on time.

Produce weekly Project Status Reports to provide stakeholders with remote access to each project’s status.

Communication of Timescales, Costs, Scope, Risks, Requirements and Benefits for each project.

Creating Product Specifications for transparent access to technical information and product data for our Sales, Marketing and Customer Service teams to use with their customers.

Oversee project tasks with our International partners and our UK factory.

Management of quotations by negotiating with global suppliers and liaising with our in-house finance team.

Manage prototype Imports and Exports worldwide (including Customs paperwork).

Manage customer's Assembly Instructions, Care Instructions and Packaging labels.

 

The Morris Furniture Group - Design Development

(G-Plan Cabinets, Morris Furniture, Zone and Relaxateeze)

Reported to the Joint Managing Director to formulate Good, Better, Best strategies across the Group.

Responsible for introducing new collections within G-Plan Cabinets, Morris Furniture, Zone and Relaxateeze.

Management of the Design Department and lead in driving trends in the British furniture industry.

Coordinate designs for Dining, Bedroom and Upholstery collections from concepts through to manufacture for the Group.

Liaise with Marketing to facilitate the appropriate styling of new collections ready for promotion.

Visit out sourced suppliers for overseas sample inspections.

Manage design meetings and collaborate with Technical Coordinators.

Develop concepts in accordance with a set brief and attend international furniture exhibitions to analyse trends.

Explore new materials, technologies, techniques and attend trade shows for latest fixtures, fittings and furniture solutions.

Produce rendered illustrations in Photoshop for formal presentations of new concepts to customers.
